Enjoy The Season
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three weeks since we brought Shiloh home!

As my husband, Rod and I watched him sleep this morning we had mixed feelings.  We are physically exhausted because of all the house training and general rules of human/canine contact (i.e. no…you can’t eat the carpet, furniture, shoes, our hands, our feet, and pee where ever you want.)  We long to be able to leave him alone for 10 minutes without him needing parental supervision.

Therefore, we are eager for him to grow up and be

The Steps of a Good Man are Ordered by The Lord
If you ever wondered if Psalm 37:23 is true and that, “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…” doubt no more.  God confirms His word.  Let me share with you what happened today.
Because I’m feeling quite house bound, I wanted to use Shiloh’s morning nap time to go to Wal-Mart and look around.  Just as I was walking out the door my friend called me.  (Footstep #1)
I was hesitant to pick up the call because I had just put S

"El Sha-Daddy"
I thought on Father’s Day it would be neat to share the softer side of this name of our Father who art in Heaven…God Almighty aka: El Shaddai

El Shaddai’s first appearance is in Genesis 17:1 where God made a covenant with Abraham.  God introduced Himself saying, “Ah-nee El Shaddai,” translated into English as:  I Am the Almighty God.  This reveals that to whom the Lord makes a covenant with, He also gives this name to. &nbs

Following Jesus - It's Not Easy
I received this letter from a guest the other day:
“Hi Tiffany Ann, I read your article about being willing this morning.  The Lord has been speaking to me about this issue as well over the past months—not in healing but in other areas.

Swinging Emotions
I’ve been having a lot of mixed feelings these last few days as Shiloh is adjusting to his new home.  My emotions swing from happy to sad.  I’m happy because of our new baby while at the same time I’m sad because our dog Razmus went home to heaven so early.

My friend comforted me in this:  though Razzy's life was short, there was a life lesson in his living…“stop and pet the puppy.”

Shiloh - A Place of Rest...
NOT!  Well maybe the physical location of Shiloh was a place of rest...but Shiloh's first night home was not restful at all.  The poor little fella had a really, really, REALLY hard time adjusting.

There is no easy was to help puppies the first night home.  They have spend the last 8 weeks in a huddle with all their brothers and sisters.  There are many tricks of the trade you can use, but the bottom line is...it's hard, they don't like it, but it is something that must be done and done well.

Introducing Shiloh
Here is our new baby…SHILOH!  He and Rugby are getting along like they have known each other all their lives.
Shiloh was the puppy with the teal collar and he picked us more than we picked him.  For the last 4 weeks of visits he was the first of the ten puppies to get to us.  He was always in front of the pack to greet Rod and I and when he got there he would just park himself in our lap.
My husband Rodney was the one who picks out the names in the family – he always finds the prefect one.&n

I received this e-mail titled “One small request” which was to pray that a cure for cancer would be found, and then to forward the request.  The goal was to keep it circulating with the added information that 93% wouldn’t do so.
Although I do not endorse chain type of things, this one struck a cord in me.  Although I am not going to “keep it circulating” I am willing to pray for a cure for cancer.

The Feasts of The Lord

I have received several letters regarding my usage of the phrase, “Jewish Festival” in the article “Kiss of Fire,” verses, “Feast of the Lord” in regards to Pentecost/Shavuot.

They brought up a very valid point which is that Leviticus 23 sums up the seven annual Feasts as being Feasts of The Lord, not Feasts of the Jews.

I agree, and I’m so glad these letters c

The Promise of the Father
Thursday May 28th 2009 just after sundown is Pentecost/Shavout…only 7days to go.  Pentecost, a Greek word meaning fifty, is an annual Jewish festival also known as Shavuot.  It is the climax and culmination of our redemption, the conclusion of Passover (also called, Altzaret Peshach) when the Lamb was slain for our liberation.  (GLORY!)

Very briefly, today in modern Judaism, it remembers the giving of the Torah as

Seder means arrangement/order and refers to a liturgy that contains specific steps.  During this liturgy, they tell (haggadah), the story of Exodus.

The Seder is integral to Jewish faith and identity. If not for the Exodus, the Jewish people would still be slaves in Egypt. Therefore, the Seder is an occasion for remembering, p

My Favorite Thing - Truth
This hysterical song was sent to me on e-mail.  To commemorate her 69th birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan’s Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.

One of the musical numbers she performed was "My Favorite Things” from the legendary movie "Sound Of Music".   Below are the lyrics she used.  Please read this all the way to the end, there is a point I am going to make that has nothing to do with the humor of this song.

Merry Xmas
Some believe that the term XMas is part of an effort to "take Christ out of Christmas" or to literally "cross out Christ."  But the good news is....it's not true.  Using “X” in place of Christ is not a modern idea, nor is it a secular idea.  It’s quite literally, a representation of Christ.

The word Christmas occurs nowhere in the Bible.  It is a compounded word recorded in 1038 meaning “Christ’s mass.”  It is derived from the Middle English Christemasse a

As decorations of red are going up on green Christmas tree’s it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  I love the color contrast of the red and the green yet I also see yet another sign of my Beloved Savior – The Scarlet Worm.

When translating a foreign language it is very difficult to adequately capture the fullness of expression.  Even more so with Hebrew because it a pictorially based language.  Unfortunately many shades of thought are lost in the translation.

Okay, so we all know that President Elect Obama’s phone records have been breached.  While those who did not vote him into office are eager to find out if there is a skeleton in his closet, I am reminded of a scripture that gives us a warning…Exodus 22:28 - don’t curse a ruler of your people!

With everything that we already have against us in this nation because it doesn't line up with the bible, the last thing we need is His wrath because we start complining about our leader.

It's halloween today and like it or not, unless you live on a main road or in an un-populated area, children will come ringing your door bell demanding treats.

The Light of the world Himself - Jesus Christ entrusted us with the mission to be a light to the nations - not an ominous light inside a pumpkin.  Today, may we shed the Light of the world with all who come to our door today.

Footprints in the Sand
I had the privilege to play at a funeral today for a young woman I never met.  It is a privilege for me to be able to share God’s loving comfort in any way during this very sad season of life.  As the minister was closing the service someone spoke up and asked if she would read the poem on the back of the memorial card.

I didn’t expect what happened next because honestly, I have heard it so many times before and thought I was over it.  Suddenly I felt the Holy Spirit’s presence with each word the minister said.  It was as if

There is a Time and Purpose for Everything
“…The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”  (Revelation 22:2)

The Northeast is famous for its spectacular fall foliage.  As I walked my dogs, some freshly fallen leaves caught my attention.  I looked at the array of leaves on the ground and saw something of interest.  It appeared to me that these leaves had blood running through their veins.
Since, as Psalm 19 has pointed out, all of creation testifies of God I wondered what these leaves were saying.  Immediately I was brought by the Spiri

When I saw this photo I thought of the wolf in sheep’s clothing who comes to steal, kill, and destroy and I heard the Lord say “don’t be deceived little fish.”  He did make us fishers of men after all right.  :-)

This word applies to so many things today because the bottom line is, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”  (John 10:27)  In whatever today brings let’s not allow our emotions lead us, but rather let’s faithfully and fully follow Him.  A

While all eyes and ears have been on the news regarding this “bailout plan” I hear the Lord say over and over in my spirit, “Get your eyes on Me.”

Goodbye Yankee Stadium
Sunday night closed a great chapter in my life.  My eyes welled up a little bit as Babe Ruth’s daughter threw the pitch that opened their last game in this historic home.

The bond between God and Israel is compared to the marriage relationship between man and wife.  (Jeremiah 2:2-3a)   The bible is the marriage contract (ketubah) between us and God.  When Israel violated the commandments of the bible, the prophets warned them as one would warn a wayward wife who has betrayed her husband but still they did not repent.  The result was the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Wisdom

The vast majority of words in the Hebrew language can be boiled down to a three-consonant root word that contains the essence of the word's meaning. Even if you cannot read Hebrew, you will find that you can get some insight into the meaning of the Bible by identifying the roots of words. If you see the same English word in two different places, but different Hebrew roots are used, this may indicate that there is a different shade of meaning. If the same Hebrew root is used in two different places, the words and their meanings are probably related.
